Virginie Prints

Hej, my name is Virginie I come from France. I’m a printmaker working with linocut and screenprinting technique. My goal is to offer affordable art, I do believe that life is better when we are surrounded by beauty. Each print is unique due to the charm of handcrafted and the print process! Much of my inspiration comes from animal, nature and human beings.

SILKPRINTING

SILKPRINTING:

paper size 40×30 cm (11.8”x15.7”) for easy framing. It’s sold unframed.
Approximate print size: 27x37cm (10.6”x14.5”)
Screen printing or serigraphy is a very old technique of artisanal printing (10th century) which uses a system of ink-blocking stencil. To produce print by superimposing layers of colors, each stencil corresponding to a color, one color is printed at a time.

A squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures of the stencil with ink. Several screens are used to produce a multicoloured image. And voila!

Ying Yang Cats

Yin yang cats print on hand made paper!

Please note that each print is unique and may have shades and rough edges due to the charm of handcrafted and the print process! The colors may slightly vary depending on your computer screen.

Linocut is a handmade printmaking technique, using a sheet of linoleum (a mixture of wood flour and linseed oil). The design is carved on the linoleum with sharp knives and gouges, to take away parts of the linoleum. What’s left of the block is inked with a roller. All my printings are done with a hand press.

Madame Citron

This is a original print of a “Lady Lemon”, she wears a lemon tree instead of the head, with a vintage dress and a “Alma” Louis Vuitton bag. She is always followed by her little dog!
